Interesting, Miss print it is. Ill have to messure mine and see what it comes in at. I just didnt understand how it could be different. I could see a small difference caused by lowering the suspension depending on where the bike sits in relation to the swing arc of the swing arm. Glad Im not the only one who thought it was odd.

I have search the threads and confirmed my belief that the frames arethe same on the FXST and FXSTD. That being said how does the Deuce have a 2.1 inch longer wheel base. The overall lenght of the bike is the almost identical only 1 inch difference. I can see the rear fender causing the Deuce to be an inch longer. Is the swingarm different? Just going by HD comparison specs of the bikes. Thank you and happy Turkey Day.
I could be wrong, but I thought the Deuce had 2 degrees more rake than those
others. ?? If so, that would do part of it?

I also thought the front forks were longer on the Deuce and that would add even more.

We have a Heritage, a Deuce and a Wide Glide. In that order, just looking at them, the rake looks to me tobe progressively increased.

Dunno. ??

Per the spec sheet they both have 32deg rake and 5in of trail. Not sure if I am interpreting that information correctly. Hmm the mystery continues.

The answer to your question IS: HD has an error on the spec page of the 07 FXST. The wheelbase of the FXST, night train, Custom, and Deuce are the same. Wheelbase on the Fatboy and its relatives are 2 inches shorter, caused by the front end. Wallace
I thought it to be a misprint, I think the fork tubes on all the FXs are 2" longer than the Fat Boy's (FLs).
But I wasn't for sure.

I have always wondered how the Fat Boy would look with 2" longer tubes, but everybody wants to lower their bikes.
I wouldn't want to go any longer than 2" just a suttle change is all I want, not a drastic in your face change.
I've often wondered how the fatty would look with tubes a couple inches longer and a touch more rake.
I recently saw one of the baggers custom manufacturedin Colorado with the 300mm rear tire. It had a softail frame, though the owner of the bike said it was a custom built softail frame(with an HDVIN no less), with what looked like an Ultra's or Street Glide's front end. The neck was raked significantly with some serious bracing added in (pretty welds too) and the fairing front end had extended tubes.
After seeing that bike it got me thinking about several different models with slightly extended and raked front ends, the fatty being one I especially would like to see.

I believe Thunder Mountain is in Colorado and uses a lot of stock Harley parts to make different style choppers and Bobbers. My Harley dealer sells them and said that way you can take it to any Harley dealer for service. http://thundermountaincustoms.com/bikes.htm
