I like those bars! Was it a pain in the butt to run the wiring thru those sharp bends in the bars? Are they comfortable? It doesn't look like there is much pullback.
The bars definitely turn heads everywhere I go. I had the dealer install the bars for me and do all the wiring. I had them powdercoated along with my trees and lowers, so I had it all installed at the same time. My bike was already at the shop getting exhaust, air cleaner, and a Thundermax installed, so I just had them do it all while it was there. They definitely took a little getting used to. I never rode a bike that had bars designed like that, so it felt a little weird. Because of the lack of pull back and the angle of the bars, I had to push them forward. If the bars are kept in line with the forks, it turns the wrists into an awkward position that gets pretty uncomfortable. Now, however, with the bars pushed forward, there is no pain in my wrists. I'm a short guy (5'6"), so I do have to reach forward a bit to grab them. If I was taller, I'd be able to sit straight up and probably be more comfortable. I was considering switching back to a regular style ape, but something taller than stock. However it was going to cost me about $500 to do everything and that was with external wiring. New bars are cheap, but the cables are expensive as hell. After deciding not to go with new bars, I went in the garage and looked at my bike, and realized all over again why I went with the bars I did. I sacrificed a bit of comfort, but the look is bad ***!!!

Is it just me, or do others also think that 1" 1/4" chub apes don't look like "apes"? Never liked the shape myself. Classic 1" is where it's at for me.
