An idea for yer parking situation, if ya can do it:
We have her newer car and my 05 truck in the garage, they AIN"T going in the driveway!
Our front entry, which we never use (we go in and out thru the garage), is enclosed and a lil' over 8ft by 4ft. I had my bro the wrought iron guy build a 8ft by 4 ft gate and I park in the entryway. He also poured a 45* slab in the yard, so I have a hard surface to go up and down the driveway with. I'll post a pic or 2...
.....without pictures, but I did it yesterday. I bought an Anniversary Softail Custom yesterday. I'm what you'd call...excited, to say the least. The dealership is "keeping" it for me until I can figure out how to get it into an already too crowded garage. WOW!!!
OK, I have pics! Maybe you can do this, or someone else can use this idea. I had ta put in a few more studs fer backing in the garage wall, that gate is lagged inta the wall, and is HEAVY! 250+ lbs?
The driveway is STEEP, as y'all can see, and if there are frosties on the drive, that bike ain't goin' nowhere! Painful when ya have clear streets... [:@]
Gate and slab cost me $700. Then, that is from my bro. He rides a Fat Boy.
Hope this helps. [sm=deal.gif][sm=icon_cheers.gif]
Twolf, that's an awesome place to "hide" the bike and looks very safe. I don't have that provision at my house though. I "parted" the garage and made just enough room to get it in there. Barely. As of today, I've got 175 miles on her. Like mentioned before, I still am going to the garage to get a "soda", but we all know that I'm making sure that I'm not dreaming of owning this bike. I have to physically go to look and touch it to belive it. Donned the the leathers and helmet everytime and rode in the cold, but dry streets. Wow, that thing has torque compaired to my current 883 that I kept!!! I always hunted for that elusive 6th gear on the Sportster, but could not ever find it. Now, I've got a 6th gear. Man, you've got to be doing at least 65-70mph to even think of using it. Old man winter is killing most of us.
