Default RE: chrome switch housing?

Interesting.. Just this weekend I ran into an old friend with his new roadking and Chubby RK bars.. NICE! But he had OEM style chrome jobs on his bars that were from Drag Specialties.. He swears by the chrome.. Says they're better than H-D's chrome plating.. His opinion I guess so I suppose there's the "I feel better with factory stuff" factor, or the "I'm glad I didn't pay that factory premium for a so so product" feeling. I guess it depends on which side of the fence you wanna be on.

I had obvious aftermarket controls on my old bike and I thought the quality was top notch.. One must consider what these things are.. Covers that mount with little bolts.. Nothing too difficult to design or manufacture.. Especially if they're OEM copies. I'm hunting down aftermarket jobs myself on ebay.. I'm more concerned about the dealer, personnally.

my main concern would be how well the switches fit/work in the housing. then how the chrome holds up. i see the housing on ebay for $45.00 thats less than half the HD price and i worry that "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"

Good point..
And also, it sure is nice to actually hold and look at a product before you buy it.. Can't do that with the best mail order.
