Have you ever purchased a product not authorized by HD for your bike? Something as necessary as tires, oil, chrome, or custom parts? If it is not HD authorized or certified does that make it a piriate product not to be used or mentioned? :icon_banhi m::icon_ban him:
Almost two years with over 200 posts and you are asking this!? The list would be shorter if I told you what WAS authorized. Harley dealers themselves sell plenty of stuff that is not authorized. Did someone get ahold of your password and post this to be funny?
I don't think anything aftermarket is "authorized or certified" by the MoCo; but considering that the dealer will order and install parts from Drag Specialties, J&P, etc, I'm pretty sure that as long as the parts you get are from a reputable company you should be ok as long as you aren't making specific mods that will void warranty.
So far, out of everything that I've changed/installed/replaced, the only thing that was branded HD was the upgrade to boom speakers and four point docking hardware. Everything else has been other brands ordered on my own or through the dealer to save on shipping.
Yep over 200 posts and I asked the question. I had the very same answer as you until I made a post that mentioned a non-authorized HD product and found it deleted by our moderator because HD does not authorize or produce the product in the format I referenced. I am not stupid - just pissed at another example of HD suppressing the competition and taking us for more cash.

OK, now you have my full attention. I'd ask you what exactly you are talking about but I don't want you to be silenced all over again. I reeeeally want to know though. Look at the sites sponsors! The few that sell Harley authorized product are selling it at NON authorized prices! Maybe there was another reason you were silenced? Maybe if you phrased things differently?

I think you have everyone's attention. On what forum? HD doesn't control the forums, nor do I think they would go through the expense of doing so, they are very aware there is an active aftermarket out there. PLEASE, do elaborate for us ....

It has nothing to do with being a Non-Harley product.
I've had a post deleted before because I provided a link to a web site that doesn't pay this site for advertizing.
(that's what this forum told me)
It was for a cleaning product. Funny thing is I had recomended them several times before with no problem.
Which I found appauling since the forum memeber asked for my opion on what I use, I gave it, then I was sensored by some moderator.
I provided the link so the other member wouldn't have to look it up. I was trying to be helpful.

Interesting...... a forum site where people are suppose to share INFORMATION and you get censored for sharing INFORMATION.
I understand we can just submit anything. But just because it's not a sponsor site. Seems a little silly.
