I have an 06' Softail Deluxe with V&H BSS & Fuelpak
Just recently finished up doing my first service at 30,000 miles. Even changed out to new rotors and pads. All went rather well or so I thought.
When I went out for a test ride, the bike didn't seem to have the poke thatit would normally have. Thought about it and realised I had'nt re calibrated the fuelpak after adjusting the throttle cables. Re calibrated but it still dose'nt run right. There seems to be a big loss of power/tourque in the mid to low range as I have to keep shifting down where I would normally be able to give the throttle a twist and it would pick up.
What have I done wrong? Could it be I adjusted the throttle wrong? Is the K&N taking in more air?
Have checked all the settings on the fuelpak and they are correct.
Does it sound more serious? Anyone else experience this?
Any help on this will be greatly appreiciated as I don't want to have to go cap in hand to the dealer.
I don't know all of the details, but it sounds as if maybe you aren't actually getting wide open throttle. Just because you twist the throttle control on the bars all the way doesn't mean the throttle is actually wide open. Check that.
