Boss Bags. I have a set on on 05 FLSTCI. Liked 'um' so much I bought my wife a set for her 07 FLSTN. Good bags and good service. Call and speak with Greg, he's a good guy and will take care of you.
TX Fatboy, I was lookin' ta put the 4000 size on my bike. Do the 3200 bags holdenough ofyer stuff fer the shortruns? (weekenders)
I'm thinkin' the 4000 series might look TOO big, even with my 200 rear tire ta offset the look.
The bags would stay on permanently, and I have the TBags "Super T" with the roll bag for distance rides. (Escaping reality fer a week or more!)
Just wonderin' if that size works for ya guys, 'cuz I ain't gonna make a $700 mistake!
Yeah, my old bags are WAY too small, but I've had 'em fer 20 years...
I second the IronBags, the best bags I have ownd (also had Boss Bags). They are the thickest leather I have ever seen and they have great customer service. Take a look at there web site, youll see alot of pics of the different styles. I also have the Iron Thunder bags like Tmitchell does. They have an option for a cargo straps for the lid of the saddle bag. This will hold your jacket/tent/sleeping bag kind of stuff so that you dont use presous (s/p) space inside the bag. Trust me, you wont be unhappy with Iron Bags.

I don't know what to tell you about trips.
If I took a lot of trips, I'd probaly have gotten the 4000.
But I just wanted a decent size bag (bigger than the Harley's Fat Boy bags).
But now Harley makes a decent size bag for the Fat Boy.
But I also didn't want it sitting up high enough, to clear the stock Fat Boy exhaust
(or it might stick out a little with different exhaust other than stock).
I just think the 3200's are sportier looking and that's the look I'm going for.
But the 4000 sholud look fine.
Call the company and see about their exchange policy.
I sent back my trunk nag to Boss Bags with no problem to get a bigger one.
I know, I'm no help.
I'm very happy with my Osprey bags. Great quality product. 3-4 yrs old now. Still look new. Same config as stock w/o all the studs & stuff.
Reasonable price too.
I've done the quick-detach thing and it is kinda convenient but with the Ironbags, I could never be ashamed of them enough to need to remove them. hehe except for bath-time. Plus I like the idea I can throw tools, beer, bricks, lead bullion, more tools and any other heavy stuff I could think of in these bags and not worry about detach hardware failing.. They're built to haul REAL cargo.
I have a 2008 FATBOY with the HARLEY DAVIDSON FATBOY bags. I chose these because they have a steel frame in them to prevent sagging plus they plus they look awesome.

Another one for Ironbags, I actually won a little ride in bike show with the bags on!!
