2007 softail pipe install
2007 softail custom, just installed:
filter- Screamin' Eagle "Heavy Breather" Performance Air Cleaner Kit. p#29299-08
pipes- vances and hines Big Shots Staggered. p#17921
mod.- fuel pack set to fp-0598 as instructed
this was my firt time doing any work on my bike, im no mechanic but i have commonsense and can read a page of instructions.
probs thus far include: one siezed o2 sen. to the stock pipes ($35) to replace. stripped the thread in the head were the breather bolt tighten and was told to buy a heli coil kit to fix it ($30 and jacking up a new bike).
fought through all that and the bike looks great, exept the black smoke at idle- the spitting/popping on deceleration and not feeling the power transfer from the throttlel to the wheels in low gears like i thought i would.
any suggestions or shared exp. are helpfull, thanx.

Just my thought, if your getting black somke and a lot of popping and dont feel the power then it sounds like you may not have the proper fuel pak settings. If the air fuel ratio is correct you should have a good power band and smooth transitions and prob. no black smoke and very minimal popping or spitting.
