So I just put the chrome fork sliders on my '07 custom and come to find out the stock chrome dust covers will not fit with them???? Looking at the Decorative Chrome Fork Joint Covers #45415-82 and wondering if they will work without the stock dust covers underneath??? It's that or take the sliders back off to install some other type of cover...anyone been down this road yet? Be nice if they told you that you need different dust covers before you get the bike apart and find out the stock onesdon't fit!

I'm looking to do the same slider install on my 07 FXSTC. It worries me to hear that the stock chrome dust covers do not fit. What was your resolution to this??
