Turtle, mine should arrive Friday and I have a couple of questions...1) What fork oil did you use? and 2) shipping tube? was that just luck or should I go with the pvc idea?
Thanks in advance...I'll probably be looking for more advice when I have all the pieces on the floor in the garage
I used Harley Heavy Duty Fork oil, that wasmy dealers advice.
Shipping tube was luck, by the time I was done that shipping tube was chrushed,I like the PVC idea much better.
DO you have a Harley service manual? If not I recommend it, the directions that came with the forks weren't as thourough, but I think it's best to use them both.
LMK if you need anything.
Bought the manual the first time I had to lift the gas tank...great investment. The UPS site said my sliders should be in monday. I'm sure I'll be in touch.
Finished my project today. It took me longer to come up with the tool for the seal than for the entire job. I ended up buying a piece of 2" PVC but it was a hair to big. I ended up using the 2" pvc pipewith the old dust cover inverted and the inside of an old plastic paint roller . I called my brother for an extra set of hands and the job only took a couple of hours. I'll post the pics after the bike gets a bath tomorow.
