1st impressions-new cams
Didn't mean to offend you 95 inchers.
I'm just trying to correct some bad information/assumptions you were told about bumping your cubes up to 95"
The old addage, "no replacement for displacement" is what I'm trying to tell you.
Cams are only going to helpdevelop the powerband usingthe air/fuel combustion stroke. Add more compressed air/fuel through larger cubic inches, and you willhave more to develop.
GEORGE C CHECK OUT THE QUICK BUMP KITS BY KURYAKEN THEY PACK MORE POWER THAN THE BIG BORE FOR LESS CASH THEY HAVE DYNO NUMBERS. BUT I BELIEVE IF YOU LIKE IT THATS ALL THAT MATTERS OR WE WOULD ALL BE RIDING THE SAME BIKE
The problem is that all of their increases are made above 3,000 RPM. It makes very little torque down low where 99% of us use it the most..
Add displacement and you get more thumping right off of idle..
Heck, they're (Kuryakyn) into the heads, so you've already paid for most of the labor to drop in the BB kit..
Do what I did. You don't have to buy the "kit"..
If you have your engine apart, just send the cylinders out for boring. Pistons and boring together will probably run about $400.00-$500.00 range. Then you can do what ever else you can afford at that point.
That's a big jump for little cash.

I'm sure big bore AND heads would be a big boast, but at what cost. I may do it later.

Glad you like your setup. Sounds awesome. Your bike just keeps gettin' better and better.
I'm gonna have to do some motor work to mine one day. I heard a new Softail Custom at the dealer last week that had just been put back together that sounded amazing. The guy who owns it is in Iraq right now. He bought the bike and had a lot of money put in it right away. Sent off everything and had the motor done up along with some other chrome goodies. Bike is putting out over 100 hp and torque. It sounded like a carb'd bike, which was what I really liked about it. I just don't see myself being able to talk my wife into lettin' me do that kinda work to my bike anytime soon.
