Was just wondering if anyone else had this prob.only have 400 miles on bike , i have a steep driveway and when im going up it the bike bogs down if i try giving it more gas it stalls. i tried speeding up and taking it in 2nd but its to steep and again i have to go to 1st and it bogs again, do i need to let it warm up more ? or is something more wrong?
OK I'll play. Don't drag your feet on the ground. Or perhaps do you need to hit the gym?
Seriously, I only sort of understand your problem. If you are saying that the bike bogs down going up a steep hill when it is cold and you are in a proper gear for the hill, that is not normal. If your bike is carbed it could be too rich or too lean based on your choke setting. If it is fuel injection, I have heard of a gasket failure causing it to allow air to leak in when cold causing a lean condition.
Ok guys my kickstand is up feet not dragging, im in the proper gear, its an 08 with 400 miles, wasnt that cold when i started riding it but i would start it then take off, half way up steep driveway it would bog down and if i gave it more gas stall out. oh its fuel injected and i weigh 185 hummm have i left anything out? yessss your welcome for the service nice to have it appreaciated. not sure how this reads im not being sarcastic just nice to talk to other bikers.
First question.. are you letting it warm up properly?
I have an 07' FI and it takes a good couple of minutes or more before the bike warms and idles down. I've found trying to go earlier will cause it to cough and choke.
And it doesn't matter whether it is cold or warm outside... the bike wants to be warm first.
