Could you please give me some advice on this. I'm looking at a two year old Heritage loaded with all the goodies but it has 23,000 miles. Is this a lot of miles? I'm relatively new to the Harley world and have an 05 1200C and am looking at giving the Sporty to my wife and getting the Heritage for myself. Thanks in advance for the input.
It's more miles than the average person puts on a bike per year, but it's not excessive. In fact, it's only slightly more than I put on my bike in a similar period of time.
Truthfully, with bikes I worry more if they have extremely low mileage than high mileage. I've had issues in the past with bikes that had sat unused for long periods.

That's right on with my experienses as well. letting them sit is worse than riding them regularly. My only concern with a bike that has that many miles is whether or not it was serviced at the required intervals...and serviced correctly.
As you might have heard in other areas of this forum that is not a lot of miles. I agree it is in a shorter time period but with the dealer checking it out you should be fine.
I would say you need to ask yourself how many miles you'll be riding, annualy. If you are a casual cruiser and don't put many miles on, it sounds like a great way to go. The miles should translate into a pretty good price. If you are a heavy road hog, you may want to start with a lower mileage unit. Just my opinion. 23K on a well cared for bike would not scare me.
Keep looking I bought my 2004 heritage classic for 16000 it only had 1350 miles on it ,loaded with extras and two year ex- warranty, you can find good deals if you don't hurry just read and watch my son bought a 2005 deluxe for 16500 from a guy in NC with less than a 100 miles go on ebay spot one and if they don't sell it email them and make offer you can usually get the right scoot for you at a great price
