I have the mustache bar on my bike, I like the looks of it. The dealer had a heritage on the showroom floor with the mustache bar installed, I liked the looks of it and rode my new bikehome with one installed.

Default Crash Bars for Springer Softtail

I purchased a Lindby flattop or mustache style crash bar for my 2003 Springer Softtail on the internet without being able to actually see how it would actually accommodate my bike. When it arrived and I installed it, I first thought it "looked" cool. However, one day I had to apply the brakes rapidly resulting in the tip of my MC boot first hitting the flat top bar and momentarily not allowing me to transition to the brake. The problem I found IMHO is that the space between the brake and the top bar is diminished because the top bar sits low to the brake in comparison to a traditional oval or D style crash bar. I consequently sold the mustache bar and replaced it with a Lindby 1411 Unibar that increased the space considerably. Consequently, I have not had anymore top-bar interference with the Unibar model. The changeover has given me peace of mind when having to rapidly brake.

That’s a great review on what could happen. Was considering the mustache.

Mustache for me here on my Heritage.
I think it looks great and fits with the styling of the Heritage model.
The position of the built in foot rest is perfect for me. It keeps my legs in closer to the tank than other bars Ive had on bikes which really cuts down on wind resistance at highway travel speed.
Also, I dont feel like I’m doing gymnastic spread eagle splits while riding. More of a natural position feel.
To each his own, but I really like mine.
