I should have mine installed this week. I have a Heritage, and auxiliary accessory wiring is not prevalent.

I will run a wire from the taillight, underneath the fender, and out by the fuse panel. I will then run the power/ground wire for the GPS underneath the gas tank, to the fuse panel area, and tie the two together. I prefer a key-on power instead of a constant on, such as going directly to battery. Being there is such a low draw, I do not plan on adding a fuse, but one could if so inclined.

I have a Garmin 2720 that I will mount to the handlebar, close to the handlebar clamp, using a regular RAM ball mount. I should be able to hide the wiring well there.

If there is interest, I can take pictures and give a step-by-step how to along the way.

Post some pix if you can. I'm sure a lot of us would like some direction. I've got a Mio 320 GPS with an automobile suction cup windshield mount and cigarette lighter power cord. I have a chrome dash panel on my Heritage and I think the suction cup thing on the autombile mount will work. I'm thinking about adding the cigarette lighter style poweroutlet fromPowerlet Productsand just plugging the thing in when I use it. The H-D GPS and mounting kit is just too expensive for no more than I'll use it.

I got the Powerlet port for the handlebars and love it. When I stop for lunch or some other purpose where my motorcycle will be out of sight, I can just pull the whole GPS off the ram mount and stick it in my bags to secure it.
