Default Help need some advice on Springers

Hey everyone--
First we are excited to be a part of something great thats harley related! Lots of great stuff on this forum.

Now the really important stuff I need to know......does anyone know what can and cannot be interchanged when it comes to a FXSTS and a Heritage Softail? Me being a female----have this wonderful custom idea for my 91 Springer----Hubby says he aint sure definately soIm asking lol

What I want to do is this.......I want to put hard bags on my 91. So....to do this it would require a Bagger Tail kit for mounting them. And the fender has to be a full fender style instead of a fat bob. Thats great and easy but much $$. So my thoughts are that Heritage is a softail---can I use those bags and mounting hardware with some slight modifications? Would save me lots of $$$ for other stuff like dual exhaust since my up and outs wont work with hard bags and need to go with pipes that crossover instead of single sided. Speaking of that----how about the exhaust can I put heritage dual exhaust on my Fxsts? I want to know what parts are able to be interchanged between the two with little or no modifications. Hubby is great at fab work so thats not a big deal. But coming up with the couple of thousand for my bright idears is a big deal says hubby. lol please help

Thanks ya all

Most parts from a 99 and earlier can be interchanged.84-99 softail frame was all the same..The only thing can't be really interchanged is anything on the front ends... Brake calipers, risers, bars, etc..All that stuff will be different. A dual exhaust, Samson, V&H or Stock system from a 99 and down Heritage Springer will bolt right up. The bags may need some slight tweaking...The fender struts will be the same essentially but the Heritage may have more hole to accomadate the bags.
