Has anyone ever had a problem with grip indexing? I put my Centerline grips on and the throttle grip didn't line up with the left grip at all, It was way off, I had to use everybit of my adjustment on the cables to get it close and I'm not real happy about it. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the great information.
I should be able to screw it up by myself now. <G>

I've never had a left hand grip glued onwhere you can't get it off without a simple twist. You guys are making it wayyy too difficult. Thestock grips have indexing tabs on them that lock into the control housing to keep them from twisting or pulling off. No need to cut, pry, soak with lighter fluidor god forbid remove the bar and soak it in hot water!!!

Well, my '08 had the indexing tabs as mentioned, but the **** grip was still glued in place. I guess you must have gotten the lucky grips.

my 07 also has tabs. also had glue. trieing to remove it without cutting would have been way more trouble than its worth.

My post was only related to my experience with my bike. The left grip was glued on with so much glue, there was no way any kind of twisting was going to get it off. I spent probably a half hour trying to get that one off, before giving up and cutting it lengthwise...I had to clean the glue off the bar prior to putting the new on. Maybe some others have been more lucky with their grips.

I just cut mine off too, stock grips, too ugly to care. Not worth the time to mess with it.

Like others have said I twisted by hand and it finally broke loose. I don't know if ithas been mentioned yet but I had a strap wrench at the ready in case I could'nt twist it by hand.
