Thanks for all the positive reinforcement guys it is a big project but with the manuel and the help of others I will get it done eventually then just a new paint jod and air ride system and I will be happy for a day till I decide to change something else. Like all of you I can't wait to see the finished product either and I will post more pics as it progresses hopefully next week.
Well just checked with Heartland again and the swingarms are still not ready. Today is exactly 2 weeks since I contacted them about the swingarm hitting the frame. My patience is starting to wear thin but not really much I can do about it. Just a little advice to anyone ordering the kit make sure you have plenty of down time to do the work just in case.
That sucks, I can't believe Heartland doesn't have more in stock. I think if I were you I would start going up the chain of command with them. They should be able to make one in a matter of two days. I think it isn't a priority with them to take care of you. Did they forget about us with softails older than 2000????
I'd let Heartland know you are posting the mod on a HD board and right in the middle of your thread you had to stop because of incorrect swingarm. Now everyone on thread is waiting and they are the holdup. Mention alot are starting to look elsewhere for 250 kits.
Well everyone here is the latest update Pro 1 sent me a new wheel and all is well with that now as for Heartland week #3 and still no swingarm they have them but they say it is getting powdercoated and maybe they will send it out Wed of next week which means 2 more weeks of waiting with how slow UPS is. Wait it gets better the seat they sent will not fit on my bike no matter what I do, now I am no expert but I think that newer moel seats will not fit older model bikes because the wishbone is narrower on newer models and this seat is a bout 1 inch smaller from side to side in the front gee I only told them my bike is as 96 about a 100 times maybe they don't care I don't know. My advice as of this point to all of you looking to switch to a wide tire look around a bit more especially if you have an older bikeHeartland seems to be more of a hassel than it is worth. I am a patient man but my patience is about gone along with about $4000 so there is not much I can do at this point. Stay tuned for the rest of the problemsI am sure there will be more.
i would be kicking some ones a$$ at this point. if you have invested this much time and money and they are telling you it is still going to be another week i would be calling someone and talking to there bosses boss. i am going to be puting a 250 kit on next winter but you can bet your a$$ it wont be a heartland
