Hey I'm tossing the idea around of putting a dual headlight on my 06 Standard. I found a bracket from Headwinds. My main question about the probable project is the wiring the two headlights together into the stock wiring. What I need to do etc. So if anybody has any experience with this or know somebody who has. Id appreciate it before I give the green light on this project.
As long as you don't use higher than normal (55/65W) powered bulbs you shouldn't have any problems.
The new Fatbob has a nice twin headlight setup if your interested.
But beware, its a Harley part and you KNOW what they like to charge for their stuff.
It's pretty nice, actually sourced from Custom Chrome. I'm having the whole thing powder coated so I haven't installed it yet, but it looks pretty straight forward. Each lamp has it's own set of wires, so I Just need to splice them into the existing harness or connector.
I was wanting the Rick Doss dual headlight from JP cycles but they cant get it no more, I checked all over and the supplier has a back order on it with no expected time. So thats why I went tothe Headwinds dual bracket. I bought it right from Headwinds for 104.00 but they wanted to sell me some of thier lights to go with it at 300.00 a piece..no thanks. Found some good 41/2" lights at JP for about 60 or 70. Hembrey...post some pics of your train when you get the light on.
Does anyone know of a vertical dual headlight setup? I saw a picture of a bike that had two vertical rectangle lights, and I thought it looked pretty cool.
I saw a dual verticle setup with rectangle lights in one of the scooter mags couple months ago.It was on a chopper built by CCC and was suppose to be the proto type, if I remember right. I checked their web site and didn't see it listed, while back. Back in the day I had dual setup on my '49 Pan, that was 30 years ago, can't remember where I got it, 'course I can't remember what I did last week.
