This week I am assisting at the Vancouver International Motorcycle Show. I was told that Cross Bone unitsshould be arriving out here on the west coast in 3-4 weeks.
As for the Rcker rear fender issues, I heard that Sasquatch was getting hair in the paint when he was painting the rear fenders & that is why there was such a long delay in the release.
Here's the skinny on the Rocker and Cross bones. Alot of restructuring and reassigning of positions came about after the Rocker was first introduced. When R&D finished testing the Rocker and approvedthe bike went to styling. styling didn't liket he 3 bolt rear fender and changed it to a 2 bolt rear fender. After the Rocker was finalized the fender woild not stay on in final testing. The MOCO worked for several months trying to convert the 3 bolt to 2 bolt rear fender. That is why it was delayed.Harley made alot of mistakes and vowed they will not do that again. The Cross Bones is in production now and we will have at the dealership the first week of February. Retail in satin is $16795.00. I have seen and set on one and even though I am not into the old school or bobber look, the bikeis awesome.
That's the word at my dealer too. They were allegedly loading them on the trucks as they were being unveiled at the dealer merch show last week; just about the same time they showed up on the web.
There are also rumors that the Sportster XR model that debuted in Europe last year will be available in US markets in 08.
