Default Extended forwards or higway pegs

Just ordered my new softail custom and I am thinking of installing either extended forward controls or highway pegs. I have heard that the extended forward controls give you less ground clearance. As far as I know if I install the extended controls this will determine what engine bars I can fit to the bike as well. Any advice would be great. Will post some pics once I get the bike.

Thanks

I've got the Ness 3" Extentions on my '07 FXSTC and I don't see that the ground clearance changed at all. If you're refering to lean angle, I will tell you would that dragging your pegs is hard to do. And although I have accomplished it, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you are looking to put a full highway bar on it then stay stock.

I've got the highway pegs from Kuryakyn. I wanted highway pegs without the look of having to add crash bars or Lindby's. The Kuryakyn jobbies cost around $150 and bolt onto your footpeg mount (your footpeg mounts to that). th highway peg arms go behind your shifter & brake pedal, and then you can install whatever footpeg you like. Looks good, and is high enough to offer clearance. I really like the look.

If your tall 6' or up you will like forward controls for everyday riding . I really like my 3" ext Accutonix and Like said ..it would be hard to hit them on a turn (haven't yet)[&:]
