'93 Heratage Oil Leak

Default '93 Heratage Oil Leak
I just took in a bike for a storage/detail/maintenance for a buddy from out of town. It's leaking oil, a few drops, after shutdown. I heard something about a detent ball/spring that is supposed to relieve oil pressure after shutdown, causing a similar leak. Have any of you heard of such a thing?

Any ideas? Is a leak like this fairly common?

How about a couple of pics of the actual leak or an explanation of where the oil is leaking from. Maybe somedetail could garner some responses. The way you have describedthe problem, it could be leaking from anywhere.

Ok, so no pictures, and the bike has an aftermarket oil tank. What It appears is happening, is there is an oil vent line, that drop down along the back of the case, and empties right about 2" above the lower portion of the rear arm, if that makes sense. Now I just need to know why it's blowing oil out the vent.
