Texas Street Glide - now that was too funny! - not that theres anything wrong with being gay!
By gosh, I hope I just didn't insult some forum member that REALLY has that name already. Hee hee.

The mental picture of the rough & tough Texans out there "gliding" around just doesn't fit the typical chauvinistic cowboy image. Hee hee hee hee hee.......

Its all good....

I imagine it could be worse...... "Texas Glide Boy"...... ("now that's funny right there"....)

Walk out and look at the cage you own. Is it a sports car or a Lincoln? If its a sub-compact well then you need to visit the sportster section. You can decoded from there. By the way, I hope its not a minivan you will need to get a Honda.

One last note I really like your bike, you did an awesome job with it. I was asking a guy the other day about a tank lift, and showed him a pic of your bike as the example.

Have you test rode a Street Glide yet?
that should help you make up your mind..
I test rode one that was punched out to 103,had V&H tru Duals on it
and it was BLLLLLAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCKKKKKK and I loved EVERYTHING
about it..except feeling like I was sitting ON TOP of it instead of IN it,like I do with my fatboy,

Of course a different seat would fix that little nuance
I'm still contemplating the ame issue, but I'm looking at it
like My fatty is paid for

Okay, thanks everyone.

Here's a few points.

1) I'm not asking people what to do, I'll figure that out. I was just curius what people thought about the difference in the two bikes.

2)I don't want two bikes. I've owned two cars before (one as a daily driver and one for a sports car) I was never happy doing that. Plus I will never give the insurance companies the satisfaction of double charging me, when I can only drive one at a time. A second personal pleasure car should be extremely cheaper, not just the 10% they knock off for two cars like they do with two drivers and two cars. But don't get me started on that.

3) I know about trading soon and the loss of money. I already figured that in when I bought the Harley in the first place. I knew the market was flooded with new bikes.....and people could forget about selling a bike for more than they paid for it, like they did back in the 90's.
Plus I get that same **** from people every time I trade cars.....and I've traded a lot of cars. So I hear that **** from people that mainly drive Mini Vans or people that are jealous, that I can trade whenever I want. Tell that to some snot nose punk, who lives from paycheck to paycheck....and doesn't have a clue how to save for retirement. I'm already retired, so give me a freakin break. Sorry, but that **** really gets on my nerves. Like I'm an idiot and never done this kind of thing before.
[sm=sorry.gif]

4) I agree the Fat Boy is a sports car and the Street Glide is an SUV. I looked at the Street Glide when I bought the Fat Boy, but I thought, man I don't want an old geezer bike. I've had several Mustangs (3), Cameros (4) and Corvettes (5)but none gave me the pleasure I get from riding a bike.......and to answer tlb I just traded for an SUV (Chrysler Aspen) so I guess I'm ready for a Touring bike then huh?
FYI: If you don't drive a pickup or SUV in Texas you will get run off the road. Since my wife has been run into 3 times in the past 6 years, she even traded for an SUV, just so people can see her.

5) I already have detachable bags andwindshield. They are great and I love them.

6) I've thought about adding the fairing, but it's more than just a radio and fairing.

7) The Fat Boy and all the Softail family is great, I'm just waying some options. Like I said, I didn't know crap about the Harley models before I bought one and I was very lucky to buy a great bike.
8) Poor Boy made a very valid point: Ain't no way I'm going to change my screen name to "Texas Street Glide". [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

9) ah just for clairification perposes, the Street Glide isn't a woman's bike is it? I don't want to get in the middle of that crap. [sm=joke.gif]

10) Thanks again for all your comments. Information is the key.

Is there a bike that is a "woman's" bike...I only consider a bike a woman's when a woman ownes and rides it. As far as the geezer part, that sounds to be your determining factor. I would just add...the S/G is designed to be an "open" road machine, are you planning on using it that way? Good Luck...I can't see a S/G looking better than your FB. I also ride a FB, if that makes any difference.
