Default doing my own work

Just got my 06 night train last week & already ready to make changes. Is it real difficult to do minor changes yourself? Such as new pipes, air cleaner & probably a v&h fuel pak. I would like to save some money but don't want to get in over my head

The three that you mentioned are very easy to do. Get a service manual. Take your time. Read the directions.

As stated above. These three things will be the easiest hands on things that you can do to improve the look, sound and performance of your bike. It also gives you the pleasure of knowing you put your time into the bike...kinda like building a bond with your beloved bike!

What they said, and if you do run into a problem or question, post away. Someone will help you out.
That's the fun part of owning a Harley and a benifit for hanging around here.

Easy to learn and you get a sense of pride in working on your scoot and seeing what you can create in your mind and making it become a reality. Enjoy!

Hey Jef, welcome to the forum, I agree with what the others have already said, did you know
that we have a Night Train Thread, Come on in that way you can see what different pipes
and many other mods look like on a bike just like yours.
PS by the way nice choice of bike

I started wrenching on my bike last year. Have successfully completed a lot of various mods. Some went well and others took some work to get it right. This forum is great & is very helpful.

Good luck.

Yeah it was real easy. Took about 2 1/2 hours for pipes, t-max, and s/e backing plate.

Make sure you look at the tech areas and the do-it-yourself areas of this board. I've found a ton of useful info there.

After I started doing the work myself, I was pissed that I let the dealer install my bags & crash bars when I ordered my bike. Those were two very easy add-ons and I would have saved several hundred dollars!

Live and learn!
