FYI...the aftermarket bulbs that run brighter, tend not to last as long as OEM!! So If your willing to buy bulbs more ofter, get the silverstars or piaas...both are much brighter than stock!!
does anyone use the rainbow cage ? will the piaa super plasma gt-x cook the headlight reflectoror ?do they have the same runtemp. as stock because of their low wattage use ?
Over on the BMW message board, there was a long thread aboutheadlight bulbs. Someone posted a study that showed Sylvania Silverstars are brighter than stock but don't last as long.
I just put a Silverstar in mine a couple weeks ago. It definitely makes a difference. Being that it was onlyabout $20 and I could get it from the auto parts store down the street, I'd say it was definitely worth it. I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. PIAAs are more expensive.

They are expensive, but cheaper than a light bar.I wanted more light in my FB, but did not want it to look like a Heritage, soI got the Super Plasma GT-X PowerSport bulb H4 60/55W=135/125W instead. Big difference, way better than the weak HD stock.
Worth it?Nine months or so, after I installed it, the high beam died. Called PIAA and the sent me a replacement at N/C whatsoever.
Nice thing about them is availability. When do lights burn out? Well, normally at night (Murphy), and/or when it's raining(wet), but mostly, when you need to go somewhere. WHy I don't change to the grey color or clear lenses and colored lamps. Where do you find those on Saturday night?
