Default Front signal relocation

I am going to put the auxiliary lighting kit on my 2007 Springer. Killing time and looking through craigslist.com I had noticed this guy's bike for sale:

Here is the original listing with more pics: http://dallas.craigslist.org/mcy/561860405.html

Anyway, I noticed from the pics that he had relocated his turn signals out to the end of his auxiliary light mount bar. Looks pretty cool to me and I want to do it. My question is this, have any of you done this or seen it done? Re-routing the wiring seems no big deal but I am curious as to how the bullet housings are secured into the mounting bar (threading the inside maybe, putting something similar to a masonry anchor in there, or simply welding/drilling and using a set screw on something threaded) and if you can just use the stock ones or if a different housing is needed.

Any suggestions or wild guesses would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance.
