Finally installed my saggy bags on the Heritage bags today......................
Easy... who said easy...?
For me it took more than five minutes I will say that and my bags aren't very old. Less than a year. Finally did get them installed though and the glue is drying.
Question. I haven't put the opening edge strip on yet. I was trying to figure out a way to do it without scratching up the leather pushing them on. Anyone do this and did you have a trick worth sharing?
Get some help, it takes about 4 hands to get it on. When I did mine, I held open one end of the stiff plastic strip with a wide blade screwdriver and guided it in place while my wife pushed from the other end to slide it on. It takes a while, take it slow and you'll be ok.
I agree, they are a PITAto install. I had to remove about 1/4 inch from each piece and that is a lot of sanding/grinding/scraping. took me about 2 weeks to get mine installed. I would work on it for a half hour or so and get frustrated and take a looong break. The bags do look much better once they are installed.
