That's what I have on my 1997 Heritage Springer
chappy
*Edit: after reading the next post, I see I should have included in my post how long I have had them on my Springer and how I like them;
They have been on my springer for 10 years (since 1999) I picked the Sampsons because I wanted true duals and I like the looks and the sound. My last state inspection the shop decibel meter read 105 db. That left me only 1 db to spare. The straight pipe fishtails are on the bike in the photo above.
I have one set of straight pipe fishtails with Chrome Works 8 inch baffles cut down to 3 inches long, I have Torque Valves that helps fight the negitive effects of the exhaust reverbertion.
I also have a set of Sampson 3 in mufflers with fish tails that I put on inplace of the straight pipes when I go for cross counrty rides through many states. I don't want to deal with exhaust noise issues with Rosco and his friends.
I have 28.5s fish tails on my Deluxe with no problems, just to clairify there are fish tails and long tails. They sound great.... I live in the southwest were the temps get over 100 deg F and I really cant tell the the diffrence from my old exhaust. What ever pipes you have are gonna get hot. Samsons are well worth the price, great quality product.
