I recommend using S-100 with a high pres wash. Just rinsing it with the hose,
it'll leave a film on there. Take your S-100 and GUNK (for the underside)to the wash rack and blast
away.
no probs when i use s100. spray it on and hose 'er off using garden hose pressure water... works great. i don't let it sit for long periods of time and i make sure the bike is cool. besides that its been good to me. i'd much rather beriding than washing. s100 takes care of that...
Been using it about once a week during riding weather for 8 years on my 2000. I credit it to helping keeping the bike look like new. It's not harsh like some soaps. BTW, I mix it 50/50 with water. It seems to work just a good.
Love it. I've been using it on mine for 2 years. I use the garden hose. Spray it on, rinse immediately. I always check surfaces afterwards to make sure they squeak. Bike is still looking great.
I do the same thing,50/50 mix and it cleans my Night Train without any residue. Only use the Brightener 2x's a year or so to get the black as bright as new.
Using the high pressure at a car wash or your own pressure washer does does more damage than good. Most of your electrical connections are basically water tight not water proof. Over time you will feel the results of corrosion not to mention peeling paint, chrome and powder coating
