Have any fellow Rocker owner's successfully installed a fork bag yet? I got part 92352-08 Fork Bag for FXCW/C Models today andthe three bolts used to mount the bag to the mounting bracket are too short. The bolts don't even reach to the inside of the bag and the bag doesn't appear to be made deep enough to reach through the forks and even touch the bracket. Seems to me the bag should be deep enough to barely clear the forks and touchthe bracket but I have never installed one. Any other Softail owner's with fork bags may know that answer.
I USED A LONGER BOLT AND NUT IN THE CENTER TO PULL THE BAG BACK. I THEN INSTALLED THE TWO OUTER BOLTS, REMOVED THE LONG CENTER BOLT AND REPLACED IT WITH THE SHORT BOLT SUPPLIED.
Thanks Bone and Rob. I guess Rob confirmed what I suspected, the bag isn't made to be flush with the back of the forks therefore touching the mount. I'll try the long bolt to tighten it up and see if that works.
It will fit. I have one on my Rocker C, but I really had to push the bolts in hard to get them to fit. Once you get one in, the rest will follow. I thought the same thing, but got pissed and really made the short bolts fit. A little patience paid off for once for me.
I have a fork bag on my Rocker, which was installed when I picked the bike up. It took a long time for the service guys to get it installed and I think they may have swapped out to some longer bolts. But it is on and looks good. Doesn't hold much, but at least it will hold some glasses and other small stuff.
