I have just taken the floorboards and controls off my 07 Fatboy and replaced em with the forwards from an 07 Softail Standard. The Fatboy, Softail Standard and Nightrain are all interchangable.
So if you are able to do with floorboards then just swap em over with another model that is compatable to yours.
get a model with boards. remove the boards. Use the rear board mount and modify a set of pegs to fit them - there's your mids. I moved the boards forward on my Sloptail and mounted pegs on the now unused rear board mount just to have a place to move my feet. Worked fine.
Ingenuity. If'n someone tells me it can't be done, they are simply confirming their inadequate mind.
hi Skulz, thanks, good info.
The only Softail I really REALLY like, enough to think of getting one (although they are all really great) is the old Bad Boy with the black springer. I just think those are so cool, stock, right out of the showroom.
I see some of these new factory customs and tho they are good, I think, but that old Bad Boy was just as good or better...
anyway....
I like my 1200 L Sporty alot. No real reason to switch except I love the way that FXSB <<<correct letters? looked.
(but again, they all look good.......)
thanks again...
If it was possible, Harley would've done it. I asked the salesman why they didn't put mid controls and forward on the Rocker like the Fat Bob has. He said it's not possible on the Softail frame.
And, you believed a "saleman"?? LOL That's the funniest thing I've heard all day!
As it's been said, for the right about of money, it can be done.
