I just picked up my 2008 Fat Boy today.Pacific Pearl Blue. Now I just need to get some new wheels and pipes. I want to get different wheels. I like chrome wheels. The guy at the Harley Dealer said I would have to get new wheels, sproket and brake rotors. Does this sound right? I also want to get some pipe. I was thinking some Vance & Hines Long Shots....... Any other thoughts? Thanks guys.
Congratulations! Welcome to the Forum Mike. Love your color, and I see you already added some "functional" accessories.
Go all the way....meaning Stage 1. Pipes, hi-flow air cleaner, and a fuel computer. Hard to go wrong with V&H, excellent quality. Even though you see a LOT of V&H pipes on the forum, they don't seem to be "everywhere' out on the road.
In contrast to Kry's photo, mine is showing the V&H Big Shot Staggard; so you'll have a side-by-side look of these on a Fatboy.
I like the stock look. Rush slipons. I saw on ebay a company that will chrome your wheels. hey if you decide to change them let me know if you are going to sell the old wheels and bearings and spacers. I need a set for an 08.
I agree on the Wheels and Pipes...........and I agree that the matching sprocket is a good idea.
Rotor I couldn't see much difference so I stayed with stock.
If I did it again I probably of went with 18" rims.
Mine are the 17" HD Blade rims.

Wow...... Those wheels are sick. I really like those. I think I agree with you and I am going to do the wheels and sprocket but I am going to leave the brake rotors.
How much does a set of wheels like that cost with the sprocket all installed?
I also love those pipes? What pipes are those? Are they loud? I want me Harley loud.
