A friend of mine is thinking about buying a springer. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons with the front end and the difference in the ride between the springer and the other softails?
This has been discussed quite a few times- you might want to do a search for it. In short, it requires a little more maintenance but I can't tell the difference between my old Night Train and my Springer as far as ride. I read an article in AIM that concluded springers actually have a better ride if its set up properly. Ride is just as good as any other bike I have ridden.
with the springer you feel less of the road because the front tire is essentially free to move up and down on its on where as the regular front end when the tire moves up the shock can be felt in the handlebars. so in summary if you take care of the springer front end it will be a better ride
