Default accessories for X-bones

Hey guys....soon to be a new harley guy. I have Crossbones on order and won't be in til May sometime. Among some of the accessories I will have put on at the time of purchase is the SE air kit. I'm not too familiar with the stock air kit, but is there some sort of plastic backing that comes off when the SE air kit is installed so that more of the filter is exposed for better air flow or so I have to buy a different air cleaner cover? I know the chrome smooth cover that Harley has will accomodate what I'm inquiring on, but I was hoping that I can use my stock cover and just be able to remove the plastic portion behind the cover. I hope my questions make sense...if not, bare with me. Thanks guys. By the way, I"m getting the Pewter Denim.

You remove the original intake and replace it with the SEbacking plate and filter. You can reuse your original AC cover.

I just finished installing that same air cleaner set up along with my black Rinehart Cross Back exhaust system. On the air cleaner, you will need to install a thick washer between the inside of the cover and the air cleaner. If you dont, the air cleaner cover will hit the backing plate where the breathers bolt to the heads.
