Is this normal???
ORIGINAL: WARG
I was detailing my bike today and noticed a grey rubbery type stuff along the entire center seam of the engine on the bottom side of the bike. It appears to be a gasket or sealer put in when the engine was assembled. It is not wet or anything and shows no signs of leaking any fluids, but I have never noticed it before. It has probably been there since the factor assembly, but just wanted to ask.
You know you can look at something 1000 times, and on 1001 you can see something you haven't noticed before. Just wanted to know if this is normal.

I sprayed mine with carb cleaner to get the cases nice and spotless and it ate the sealant and creaked an oil leak.
