How to wash and polish my bike.
Call me what you want but I dont want my new bike in the rain. Plus it seems to me that it would be more dangerous. I have 4 kids and I cant chance getting hurt.
My father in law has a 1951 Panhead and he has owned since it was new. He doesnt ride in the rain either and I consider him a biker not a yuppie.
I have never and will never ride it in the rain......
passin' cars and smilin' and givin' them the ol' head nod, [sm=biker.gif]. Now that's real bikin' and an unforgettable experience! It'll sure tighten and puckerup your ol' butt muscle!! [sm=happybounce.gif]
btw - rainonly increases the risk of coming off.
ride safe and enjoy your toy

It is only 2 weeks old.... but I find that it gets dusty quickly. I like to clean the windshield, dust it off and make sure the chrome is clean before every ride. I tried a little window cleaner on the the chrome for the dust but it made streaks.

That is a pretty shitty reply to the guy. I don't blame him, I won't ride mine in the rain either. It has something to do with loving your bike and not wanting to get it all ****ed up in the rain. If you ride in the rain, you will NEVER, I repeat NEVER, get it looking like it did at the showroom.
So I guess I am a yuppie too
[sm=shutup.gif]I think the point everyone is trying to make is.........just get over yourself and ride!
It used to bother me when I would be at the local hangout and some rich kid would ride up on his brand new Fat Boy with $5,000 worth of chrome accesories, wearing his $500 H-D jacket and $200 H-D chaps, $250 H-D vest, H-D T-Shirt, H-D do-rag, $50 H-D gloves, and $150 H-D boots, and his "look at me, I'm a biker" attitude. I got over it, though. I've learned that some people buy Harleys to show off and draw attention, while the rest of us buy Hogs to light up the road and share experiences with our bros on cross-country trips. So, if your worried about getting water spots on your chrome (I promise you they will come off with a little polishing), then I guess you fall into the first group and that is fine. Life is all about choices. [sm=itsok.gif]

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
For the record..... I never claimed to be a biker, Idont own any leather. I ride in myThsirt, Jeans and Tennis Shoes. I did just buy a brand new Harley for $ 21k..... I just dropped another $7k on accesories. It is my first bike and I love it.I liked this forum too but I am quickly feeling that I am not wanted here. I thought we all had something in common.... we own a Harley and we love to ride.Sorry if you guys think I am a yuppie.
