Default ECM upgrade

I have been hearing that a lot of dealers upgrade the ecm into a more speedy curve. I have a 2007 softail with a fuel pak. Do I really need a stage ecm and if I do, what part number should I ask and is it ossible to do it my self?
Thanks you all.

Your FuelPak IS the upgrade to the ECM, if you didn't have the FP HD could upgrade the ECM using the SERT curve. If you are having issues with the FP I would get V&H support on the line...

Just my opinion

V&H makes fuel maps for stock ecm and stage 1 ecm. So i guess you could go get the stage 1 hd download but i doubt it is going to make a difference if you allready have the fuelpak. IMO.
