Please help! Please read!
Well here is my issue. I have a 07 nightrain and it has 2k on it. I recently went out and put aSE air filter, power commander pre mapped/programmed from fuel moto (jamie), and the black V&H BIG RADIUS pipes on my bike.I rode the bike for 100 miles and pulled the plugs and they look clean. The ceramic piece on the inside of the plug is white as it would be new with very little carbon. They basically look new. anyway my concern is the bike running lean? It seems very responsive and runs great!!! But problem is Im leaving from NY to florida and DO NOT WANT TO DO ANY DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. Maybe I'm being nerotic? Not sure but I heard the plug should be alittle brownish? I called Jamie and he said it should be fine. But Im not one to gamble. Any input will help and be appreiciated greatly!

sounds good too me, with 2k they should look new, the mods you"ve done doesnt have anything two do with oil pumping, and its not a 2 stroke so, get on it ride it and if any doubts persist, stop at every ****%% bar between N.Y. and let it rest
like these guys said you'll be fine. I don't think anybody would see any noticeable change in a spark plug after 2k unless there is a problem. The brownish or build-up you see on spark plugs is caused by engine "gunk". It's just something natural that happens when you set off a fuel/air mixture a couple thousand times a minute. A lean running engine basically means there isn't a good fuel/air ratio. A good way to check is get her up to freeway speeds and crack open the throttle if it doesn't feel like it's pulling the way it should you probably aren't getting enough fuel in the chambers.
Don't worry about the ceramic piece, it's the elctrodes that you look at. If they are white your running lean, brownish good, black and sooty is rich. 07 is closed loop EFI isn't it? It should self adjust.
Also with the power commander the o2 sensors are looped/cut out of the picture.

I wish that o2 sensors adjusted the fuel mixture better. Iftheydid we wouldn't need to spendthe cashremappingthe ecm or installing fuel management systems. Those O2 sensors only give feedback to the ecm at certain times, i.e. at a constant speed like when on the highway. To get a proper fuel mixtureyou need at least pcIII, sert, fuelpak,etc.and/or dynotune. I ran my bike for a good while withaftermarket pipes andair filter with no fuel management system. The bike ran less than peak but it didnt ruin it or burn it up. But man could I feel and hear the difference when I added a pcIII.

I can't be sure but as far as I know there are only one or twosystems availablethat use wide band O2 sensors to constantly adjust the fuel maps. The Thundermax w/Autotune and I believe the Dayton Twin Tech.
