A new engine won't be the fix...all twin cam style motors have a pressed pin design in the flywheels..The two wheels are held together with a pin and pressed.( the design bl*ws)...the evos have a keyed pin that holds them in place. This is such a common problem with tiwn cams that we see all the time..buying an aftermarket with the same design wont help.(Jims does make much of Harelys stuff)...The only real fix is to have the bottom end taken apart and have the wheels trued and welded.

Okay, so here is another question. I double checked with the dealer to clarify and yes, they are putting a new crate motor in. Someone posted earlier regarding engine mods, no, I have not modified the engine in any way. I have been spending too much time and money making momma comfortable on the back. Back to the new motor, I now have to break it in all over again. Since it is just the motor, not tranny or anything else, shouldn't the only thing that needs done after 1,000 miles is oil change?
[>:]Oh #$%! ..... With my luck the damn bottom end in my 07 Fatboywill probably go south, the warranty is void with the mods I just had done re:cams etc, guess it will blow or go.....
I had a roadster in the 80's that that did that on start up, 7000 miles i was the second owner so it could of been the oringinal owner that damaged it, well back then hd warranty suck.
Enlighten me!! I have welded quite a few and built 120+ hp high torque motors and it works for me...What do you suggest as an alternative???
The best fix is to purchase a forged flywheel have trued and balanced, timkin bearing upgrade, and Pro-press Crankpin. At least that is what I've found in my research.
