Heritage brake pedal extender?

I was looking into getting the floorboard extenders to widen me stance a bit (bad knees) but I am also looking into pushing the brake pedal out as well. I found a replacement foot brake lever on line, but it was about $150.00. Couldn't I just get a 1" spacer and a longer bolt for the stock foot brake lever? Has anyone done this or have any other suggestions?

I bought extended levers for about 90 from Walters workshop out of the fatbook at chicago harley. They discounted deep.
