Default Lowering a springer

Getting ready to lower the back of my 93 springer. anybodey done this yet. If so, how did it handle after? right now my trail on the front wheel is about 2 inches and the kit I have will lower the rear up to 2 inches which should bring the front trail up some. But first I still have to take the shocks apart to install the kit, so about a week from now maby i'll be done. any info would be grate.

Default RE: Lowering a springer

I did it to my 06. Dropped the rear probably 2" initially. Didn't change the ride that much - stock shocks are stock shocks. I did get a slight bit more flop in the front end but got used to it in a few miles and don't notice the difference anymore.

I went lower briefly but kept dragging parts during excessive leaning so I'm back up to 1.5-2" again. I still scrape a tiny bit if I ride too aggressively but for the most part that's gone. Anyway, ride height looks to be right where bottom edge of fender is right at the edge ot the tread/sidewall dilineation when bike is level with no rider.
