I put synthetic oil in my FXST last fall; should I change it after it has sat over the winter like one would dino? Or will synthetic be ok after sitting a few months?

No. if it is a MC rated oil like Mobil1, Amsoil, Royal Purple, Syn3, M1 15w50it will be fine. There are enough anti-corrosive additives to go 5000 miles or 1 year. That is one of the advantages to synthetic oil. But me? I wouldn't change the dino out either if it was a MC rated oil.
If you changed your oil and parked it for the winter, as one should, you don't have to change it again when you fire it up in the spring. It'll be good until your next scheduled change.Oil does notbreak down just sitting in the bike, it's the heat and friction that puts the boots to its integrity.
synthetic is far superior to conv. oil. the problem w/ conv oil is combination w/ moisture it actually
becomes corrosive. i do the lof just before winter, and i'm good. use a good synthetic oil(mc approved)and you'll be fine.
as a rule of thumb i change my oil 2 times a yea and i use syn oil. i change in the spring and i change it about 1 or so before u put it away for the winter. and i do not put the syn2 in all the holes. harley says that u can but when i did it the tranny seens to make noise with the syn3 in it. so i use syn3 in the motor and the reg. oil in the primary and trany.
