I've done several searches on this topic and it seems several people have used these on floorboards as well as forward controls. My question is this. Since the kick stand is mounted to the floorboard mounts on the fatboy and the extension plates are made of aluminum, has anyone had any issues with the plates not being strong enough? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, just wondering if any have cracked or bent over time.
let me tell you. one of the best mods that i hav done. it does extend your jiffy that much further forward and it holds the bike fine. i just didn't like the additional lean in the bike. i also added the ness telescopic kickstand. check out the pic
Just bumping back up before I go to work. Hoping to hear from someone that has used these on floorbords.
I have them on my Springer Classic with the floorboards. Been on there for about 2 1/2 years with no problems at all. There are no cracks or any signs of stress in the extension plates. Initially I did install forwards with the extensions and I noticed a significant increase in lean when I put the bike on the stand. The first time I put it down... woha... I thought it was going to keep going. Turned out fine. It wasn't too long after that I switched back to the boards and I must have gotten used to the lean because it really doesn't seem bad at all... roll in, shut her down, stand down and away I am. Without looking at it I can't say if the boards changed the position of the stand but I don't think so. They work great for me.
