Have an 06 night train that I bought a couple of months ago. When I hit small holes the front end seems to clunk a little, up around the triple tree. This is my first harley & I don't know if this is normal or something needs adjusting. As always thanks for your guys help.
No worries my does th esame (2000 FXST) However yesterday I nailed a big one doing 75 on the freeway. Made a good sized dent in my Thunderstar wheel (not even a year old) and it cracked from Valve stem back to the first mag/spoke. Looks like the stock spoke wheel is going back on till I can decide what I'm doing with the front wheel
On my fxstc the headlight was bottoming out inside. Had to clearance the bracket to allow the rubber bushings to move freely. May or may not be your case. Just hit the top of the shell with your hand to find out. Ron
If your bike is still under warranty take it in and the HD shop will adjust the bearings free of charge. It happened to my 07 Deuce and that's what I did.

I have an 89 FXSTC and it has done that since I got it. The 1st few times it really freaked me out. I had the bearings redone a couple times and checked out the front end top to bottom. 19 years later still the same, and I've never had a problem other than that creepy sound once in a while.
