Got the Panacea led taillight installed. What a pain to wire, if your bike is older than a 96 you have to cut the old taillight harness out (under the seat) and upgrade it too the newer one so the module will plug into it. Anyways its all soldered in and made it around the block. I already learned with the new exhaust dont lean too far to the right unless you want to hear SCRRRAAAPE . Ive read a few post claiming the led cant be seen in the sun, I guess I'll have to have a friend take it down the street for me []
I have the full set on my Roadglide except I have the blue dot. You can see them fine in the daylight. Mine have been on for about 2 1/2 years now. I love them.
Your bike would take about 10 mins to install. You remove the taillight lense & remove the bulb, then plug the wires into your socket and install the new lense. Remove the seat and unplug the wire harness to the back fender and simply plug in the device the runs it.. easy as 1 2 3. It comes with a load equalizer that plugs right into the side of the control box. I didnt need mine because I already had 1 installed...
Nice vid. I Just put Panacea's on my Heritage Softail Classic and had them on my Dyna and Sporty. They are awesome. Didn't get the blue dot this time. Someone said they were "cracking down" on that sort of thing. But anyhow. be careful what you order. The 4886 comes with a run turn controller that can be set to flash the brake light if you use the 4886 brake light. You can use the controller with stock turn signals, just get red lenses. You can also get kuryakyn LED turn signals. THese are different from Kuryakyn panacea turn signals. Led turn signals just light up as red. Panacea's act as red running lights, flash amber when you hit the turn signal and flash with the brake light. The controller allows all those settings. a load balancer is included with the 4886 or the 4889. Custom dynamics lays it out well here: http://www.customdynamics.com/harley...al_panacea.htm
Forgive me, based on the time of this post, Iam tired and not understanding what I need to order for this set up.
I order a taillight (the 4886) and it comes with the ability to be used as a tailight and turnsignals? That is what I am looking for, is there any additional parts needed? I want to get rid of my rear signals as well.
