I found this grab rail for a Deluxe seat that I purchased: http://usa-biker.com/product/harley-...-14-flstn-del/
HARLEY SOFTAIL HERITAGE SPRINGER FLSTS SEAT GRAB RAIL KIT/97-03 /05-14 FLSTN DEL
1997-03 HARLEY HERITAGE SPRINGER (FLSTS) RIDER SEAT GRAB RAIL.WILL ALSO ADAPT TO 2005-2014 (FLSTN) “DELUXE” SOFTAIL MODEL'S FOR SEAT RAIL CONVERSION AND 'TALL' OR 'LOW' SPRINGER BACKREST PAD APPLICATION
I bought one like badbagger09 and installed it yesterday. Easy install and quality seems to be fine. Two warnings, however. It must be made overseas because the bolt that screws from the bottom of the chrome bracket into the downtube of the rack is metric. The reason I know is they give you a metric button bolt and washer. That button bolt with washer does not sit flush with the bottom of the bracket like the stock bolt because its a flat head bolt. If it wasnt for the mustang mini bib i have, the bolt head would have rubbed into the fender. It dawned on me in the middle of the night. It did rub an impression in the bib, but didnt hurt anything. You can either use the stock black bracket with the stock flat head bolt or use the chrome bracket and get yourself a stainless flat head metric bolt like I did. It sits almost flush with the bottom of the bracket like the stock one. Just be sure whatever bolt you use sits as flush up against yhe bracket as possible. Other than that, im good.
Cocky, "It dawned on me in the middle of the night".
How can you dream about bikes when you have avatars to dream about.
I bought and original Heritage Springer seat rail for mine off of ebay. Like other items from Heritage Springers that are for sale, they cost a pretty penny. I like mine.
I'm fuzzy here.. I have 04 heritage..if I find a Springer seat, I won't have to drill holes?
03 was the last year for the Heritage Springer so your 04 seat might be a little different. My HS grab rail bolted right up to my 13 Deluxe seat so I would guess you should be good.
Knees, its your fault. I saw your rail in one of your posts and I knew that was missing from the rear end of my bike. Your deluxe is very similar to mine and I like the way you took your bike, so thats how I have derived its your doing. I think i am going to borrow your nostalgic air filter cover next. Hope u dont mind.
