After reading your (Softail moderator)reply to all the rants, I understand the "why" of what you did. But, it's the "how" that's disappointing. The MEN on the Night Train Picture Thread started off exchanging ideas, asking for advice, and posting pics. However they also became fast friends, supporting each other through some tough times. Granted, that wasn't the purpose of the thread, but don't you thinkit would have been more diplomatic to warn them first and ask for there cooperation? I thought calling yourself a "****" was just a figure of speech. Now, I think it's indicative of a power trip. The guys never asked for "***-Kissing". Just a little bit of respect and consideration. I hope the next group fares better with you as their Moderator.

Hi up 808 m8,
i wonder if we put some panniers on are Trains and maybe even a windsheild or whatever we would be more welcomed even win a BOTM
Hi 808!! hows things bud?[&o]ManI really respect what you are saying. Although I am from the UK I really thought that the American way was that each and every man is entitled to his opinion. I have to say that nothing that was said or done caused me any offence. I also feel that a moderator by virtue of their role should firstly issue warnings regarding any behaviour that they do not approve of or see as fair to all and only if these warnings are ignoreddoes it becomenecessary to take extreme actions such as wiping a whole thread and/or banning members from the forum. As a person who came upon this site and was made to feelwelcome and also made some good mates I was surprised at the way in which this matter was dealt with.As you say it is not "what" is done but the the way it is done that will often make a difference to the end result. I did have a conversation with someone and tried to explain this but it would appear that I am obviously not the best at explaining myself as my words had no effect on the outcome.
First of all, it was not the Softail Moderator that made the decision to temporarily Lock the Night Train picture thread. I'm the Admin and I made that decision. I explained that it was only temporarily. The picture threads are for posting pictures of your bikes. It is not a chat room. They could have started it back up in the softail section or numerous places, just not there. I'm going to lock this thread because I'm tired of explaining to members who were not involved in the original disagreement. Threatening to leave the forum and pm'ing everyone the URL for a new forum is not the way to accomplish anything here.
