bought it saturday. 08 with little less than 2000 miles on it, now comes the mods.
took the bags off for around town.
now I'm looking for V&H big radius pipes, mustang daytripper seat, and the rear fender with the frenched in plate and light. where should I start looking for the best prices? I know there is alot of posts on these things, but they seem like older posts.
Congrats on your new Fatty. Seems like you have a plan in mind on what you want to do. It really never ends, but you have a blast doing it yourself.I recommend getting a service manual and undertaking some/all of the mods yourself. That way you have more coin to spend on other mods. Enjoy.
Congrats man on making the right choice!
Like a lot of the guys have said ... the upgrades really never end, but that's all part of the fun ;-)
It helps to sort of lay out plan before buying a lot of stuff, especially if you're gonna go with some kind of a theme like skull, crosses, stars ... you wouldn't want to buy too much stuff only to find out you want to go with a different theme halfway down the line.
I like a few select items of a given theme here and there, but I don't believe in overusing a theme ... less can more in this case.
I like Fatboys to be clean and functional, that means not too many accessories like windshields, bags, sissy bars, god forbid passenger floorboards and the likes ... but you have to find your own style and just go with it.
You'll figure it out! Have fun with the new ride, summer is just around the corner!
