Default Ape Hangers

I have a 94 FXSTC that I want to put some ape hangers on and I am stuck between 13" and 16". Afraid 16" might be a little big for being 5'11". Also, what size risers do you run with apes?Any suggestions and pictures would help out A LOT!! thanks

I ain't skeered! I'm running 16's with 4" risers on my Crossbones (not yet, but I should have everything by this weekend). I had 16's with 2" risers on my Dyna and I wished I would have gone taller.

I'm running 20" apes with 4" risers on a 92 springer. I'm 5'8" and have no problems riding even though everyone asks me how I do it. It just something you have to get used to.

Here are a couple of pictures of my bike. I just got it out of the shop. I was letting someone check out my apes. I'm putting stretched tanks and west coast chopper roller fender on the front and get it painted in about a week.

I am 6-2 with 16" apes and stock 2" risers. Wish that I had gone for 18" apes.

I would go with the stock 2" risers. Tough call on the size for the apes. As you see, some guys like the high ones. I am your height and have 16" Chubbys on my 07 Fatboy. You can change the height so to speak by pulling the bars towards you or making them more upright. A good idea is to go to a dealer that has a lot of used bikes and sit on ones with apes to get a a feel for what you may like. Sometimes I wish I had gone with the 12.5", but that may be more of a style thing.

Brent.
