Some of the bikes posted on this is what made my wife choose her Heritage, she, (we) decided that the Heritage offered everything we were looking for in our lifestyle. We knew that we would be taking some weekend trips, she wanted comfort, but also wanted style, the Heritage offered it all. To some it maybe a cookie cutter, but everyone makes them their own. So much you can do with it. Just look at all the pictures of the Heritages on this web site, all are some what different, and every rider is some what different.
Just my two cents...ridden them all and I love the Heritage the most. I was lucky in that we had a Harley dealer's association sponsor our race boat, so every race we went to I got a different model to ride. You;ll LOVE that balanced engine, and the handling...well let's just say my floorboard mounts are about 30% lighter than when delivered...
Buy that bitch and throw sparks on the freeway ramps is MY advice
My background on motorcycles is almost none. I've ridden a V-Star a few times but just as I was getting ready to buy my first motorcycle,
Just my 5 cents worth but I think you are crazy to even consider such a bike with your experience in riding motorcycles, something much smaller until you gain experience would be advisable, over here and rightly so you are restricted to a much lower capacity at first, with full licence and advance training you move up the ladder
I just wanted to get some advice. I'm overseas right now but will be buying a Harley as soon as I get back. I really like the look of the Heritage Softail Classic. I just wanted to get some advice about it. Road King was another Harley I looked at for a while, but I really think the Heritage is a sexy.
My background on motorcycles is almost none. I've ridden a V-Star a few times but just as I was getting ready to buy my first motorcycle, I got orders to Korea so I put it on hold (that was actually for the better so I could save up money and buy a Harley as my first). I'm about 6'2" and, from what I could tell, this would be a pretty comfortible ride. Granted, I won't know for sure until I can check it out in person, but I figure I'll get some insight from ya'll.
i was overseas last year when i bought my first HD. 08 softtail custom. i had alot of rideing experiance on sportbikes, but when it came time to figure out which HD i wanted it really came down to what moved me and the FXSTC really just poped out at me and i had to have it. it helped get me through the rest of my deployment too. in my opinion find a look that you are really taken with because in the end no matter what anyone else says you have to see it and ride in dayin and day out. go with your gut and live large.
DO IT UP MAN! I did the same thing I was over in Bahrain for a year and bought07 Heritage Classicthrough the AAFE's program Harley offers and got a great deal. The best part was my wife arranged to get it brought home from the dealer so it was sitting in my garage waiting for me! Like everyone else you cant go wrong man its a great bike all round. Good luck and come home safe bud[sm=usa.gif]
I don't really have anything to say at the moment, but I wanted to
thank everyone for replying. I hate going past the Exchange car sales
over here and seeing the two Harleys they have on display. I alsways
end up stopping and admiring for a few minutes. I can't wait to get
back home so I can get to riding.
I probably will end up checking out a couple different Harley's at the
dealer just to make sure. But, all the positive posts are a great
encouragement. I'm defintely going to be around these forums more to
learn. I probably should go to work now.
